Europeans! We are sorting out a UK/Europe tour for October. Please see our Concerts page for details of where and when we’d like to play. If you can help us out or want to suggest a venue/promoter, let us know - magpiewedding at gmail dot com
Americans! You can now buy Torches from record stores in Chicago and Philadelphia.
Australians! Listen to the Sideways Through Sound radio show in Sydney this Wednesday on 2SER 107.3 21:00 to 22:30 Australian Eastern Standard Time. They’ll be playing all kinds of ace music and some Magpie Wedding music too.
We now have even more instruments than we did before the summer started.
Some are more portable than others.
It is what it is.
See you soon.

We’re incredibly sorry to report that we won’t be playing tonight because Giorgio has been involved in a road accident while cycling. He’s not suffered serious injury, but he’s not able to play drums tonight or for the next few weeks. We hope that we can schedule a new date at Farm when he’s recovered. Many thanks to everyone at Farm and to everyone who was hoping to see us. We’re still going to be there tonight to see the very excellent Mimes of Wine and we hope you will be too.

Seriously people.

Enough acoustic stuff! We are playing all plugged in and drummed up tomorrow (8 July) with the lovely Mimes of Wine at Farm, via Via Dello Scalo 21/3, Bologna, as part of their Baia dei Porci festival. This’ll probably be our last gig here before the city closes for the summer so we hope you can make it.

Thanks to everyone who came out to Bartleby’s Garden Art last night. Continuing the acoustic theme, our acoustic session for the sweet Maps show on Radio Citta Del Capo is now online at this page with video of two new songs and audio of some interview segments.

Just confirmed - we’re opening up Bartleby’s Garden Art fest in the Giardini di via Filippo Re, Bologna at 20:30 this Thursday (25 June). Also playing will be Bavarian Garden, Cavallo Wanislavskji, Rue De Van Gogh.
We’ll be doing a short acoustic set as a trio because Giorgio can’t make it. We’ll be playing some new songs and rearranging old ones.

Free music to download on our music page! We have two soundboard recordings of our recent gig with Josephine Foster and Mimes of Wine at the ace Locomotiv Club in Bologna. These are new songs that have not yet seen the inside of a recording studio. One is called ‘Spaceman’, the other is called ‘Thrill Amnesty’. We hope you enjoy.
We have added two new dates to our Concerts page. We’ll be playing a semi-acoustic set at the Crack Comics Festival at Forte Prenestino in Rome on 19 June 2009. And we’ll be playing all plugged in with our friends in Mimes of Wine at FARM in Bologna on 8 July 2009 as part of the Baia dei Porci festival. We still need help finding shows in the UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Benelux for October 2009 to promote our new EP, Torches. If you can help, please contact magpiewedding@gmail.com.
You can now buy Torches in Cardiff, Derry, London, Manchester, and Preston in the UK, and in Bologna, Jesi, Montebelluna (TV), Pavia, Reggio Emilia, and Torino in Italy.
And, for those who like that sort of thing, we have been quietly updating our Press page with the kind words that people have been writing about our music in the UK, Italy, Ireland, and North America.
Sweet.

A reminder that we’ll be supporting Josephine Foster at the Locomotiv, Bologna next weekend (10 May). We’ll also be doing a live session for the Maps programme on Radio Citta Del Capo on Wednesday 6 May. Finally, we’re rather chuffed to have been named the Band of the Week over at Kataweb.
We’ve updated our Shop page with a list of friendly art/music stores in London, Bologna, Jesi, Montebelluna (TV), Pavia, Reggio Emilia and Turin who are stocking Torches. We will be adding to this over the next few days as Torches makes its way to more cities. So please check back if your local record shop is not yet listed (and feel free to suggest suitable places to us).

We play contaminated folk rock for the jilted families and the runaway brides, for the well-wishers and witnesses and confetti and you. We do not speak the Anglo-Manx dialect nor have we ever been to the Isle of Mann but we hope to one day do both. We respectfully suggest you do the same.
