Jonathon Fowler Photography has been photographing weddings in Edinburgh and across Scotland for 20 years, and one thing we’ve learned is that great wedding photography shouldn’t mean spending half your day posing for the camera.
For most of your wedding, we work naturally and unobtrusively, photographing the people, reactions and moments happening around us. When it’s time for couple portraits, we give just enough direction to create relaxed, beautifully composed photographs without anything feeling stiff or awkward.
That approach works particularly well for couples who don’t normally enjoy having their photograph taken. Rather than expecting you to know what to do in front of the camera, we help when you need it and leave you alone when you don’t.
Being based in Edinburgh also gives us extensive first-hand knowledge of the city. After photographing more than 500 weddings here, we know its venues, streets and photo locations, as well as how to work around busy city-centre locations and the famously unpredictable Scottish weather.
From intimate Edinburgh City Chambers ceremonies and elopements to full-day celebrations at hotels, castles and country estates, our aim is the same: beautiful, natural wedding photographs while giving you plenty of time to actually enjoy your wedding.
