Emerald Wedding Ideas - An Elegant and Modern Styled Elopement in Phoenix, Arizona

We’re totally obsessed with the watercolour trend – storming the trends for 2019 weddings, and this shoot contains beautiful watercolour cake and flowers, paired with popping jewel colours and a romantic, A-line, long sleeved wedding dress! It gives us inspirational emerald wedding ideas and adds in shades of pink to create an elegant and modern styled shoot, telling the story of a romantic elopement. Here we catch up with photographer and shoot co-oridinator Jade Min who tells us all about this beautiful shoot set in Phoenix, Arizona.

Emerald Wedding Ideas – An Elegant and Modern Styled Elopement

“We wanted to tell the story of a young couple eloping at an organic and romantic location, with the couple’s best friend (bridesmaid) in attendance as a witness.”

“We wanted to incorporate the rich emerald and romantic pink tones into our theme, and once the color palette was decided, our fellow creatives had carte blanche to come up with their own concept as far as the florals, cake/desserts, styling, etc. This color palette is elegant and timeless, and can be used as inspiration for brides within every budget.”

“The shoot took place in Phoenix, Arizona at an old and abandoned trading post at the base of South Mountain. Couples who opt to have an intimate ceremony by eloping can easily find an epic location for little to no out-of-pocket costs. Couples should work closely with their photographer because it’s a sure bet that the photographer will know of many beautiful (and hidden) gems to document the couple’s love.”

The Dresses

“The bride wore an A-Line, floor length satin wedding dress, with a delicate lace top and long sleeves. The lace adds a touch of romantic femininity and the satin skirt is elegant and allows the bride to be comfortable, especially in the Phoenix area heat. The bridesmaid is wearing a gorgeous emerald color infinity multi-way wrap long maxi dress, which kept her comfortable throughout the shoot.”

Florals

“Cheeky Blooms used the Queen of all flowers, light pink Peony, to take centre stage in the centrepiece and bridal bouquet. The Peony is accompanied by pink Carousal roses and blush Anemones to bring about the fresh, elegant beauty. Hot-pink Asters and red Gomphrena give the florals dimension and loud pops of colour. Smaller elements, such as the Spriggy Veronica and Waxflower, tie everything together with a sense of whimsy. The dominant and vibrant greens are all variations of pittosporum – a great base to represent the emerald wedding, in this elegant inspired elopement.”

Cake

“Raeye’s Bakes made a gorgeous two-tiered wedding cake that was decorated with green and gold watercolour brushstrokes, as well as brownie mini bites topped with chocolate ganache drizzle, raspberries, and sprigs of mint.”

Stationery

Lauren Yvonne Designs used the colour palette to create beautiful watercolour florals, leafy green elements, and gilded accents. Florals play a strong role in all the designs she create and was so excited to work with these elements to produce a beautiful suite that is both feminine and modern. She chose a soft pink watercolour design that complimented the theme of the overall shoot, which worked well with the florals that were used by Cheeky Blooms. Printed on cotton paper, the suite features hand torn edges, floral envelope liners with azalea shimmer envelopes and hand-applied gold leaf. The modern script font is playful and works well with the overall design.

Hair and Make Up

Makeup artist Laly Harr created a natural glam look for our bride by using bronze-brown eyeshadows to get a summer bronze glow, added some contour, highlights, and finished off the look with a nude lip colour.
