Founded by best friends Hrishi and Kevin, Festa is an AI-powered wedding coordinator designed to take the pressure off couples by handling guest communication before and during the big day. Created after witnessing the stress that guest management can place on hosts, Festa combines the latest AI technology with practical event planning to help DIY couples enjoy their wedding rather than spending it answering texts. This is perfect for anyone who wants support but don’t have the brudget for a real life planner. We caught up with the duo behind it to find out how Festa came to life
What is Festa?
“Festa is an AI event coordinator that runs the operational side of events in real time. It acts as a single system for guest communication, answering questions, sending updates, and coordinating details automatically over text. My background is in big tech at Amazon Alexa, so I’m most driven to build robust and stable systems that offer the best customer experiences in terms of latency and accuracy. When compared to comparable competitor offerings.”
Why did you choose to start Festa?
“In 2024, I attended a birthday party in San Francisco, where I was exposed to the problem of guest list logistics for the first time. The birthday girl had to scramble during her birthday to fill up the spots of 20 people who cancelled their RSVP at the last minute. This was mandatory for her because she had a headcount she needed to meet for her venue reservation. Needless to say, she didn’t have a good time during her birthday, dealing with those issues. At the same time, my work at Amazon Alexa had exposed me to new AI technology, and I came to a realisation that the same technological advances could be applied to the events industry.”
Who are the founders of Festa, and what are their backgrounds?
“Festa was founded by 2 best friends (Hrishi and Kevin) who are both originally from Michigan and have known each other for 15 years. Hrishi’s background is in business, having graduated from Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, and working in product management at JP Morgan and Visa. Kevin’s background is in computer science, also graduating from the University of Michigan, and then working at Amazon Alexa, where he led the Alexa Timers product as they transitioned to Alexa Plus during 2023-2025.”
Who is your typical couple?
“Our typical customer is a DIY couple in either their late 20s or second marriage (40s-50s). We can cater to any wedding type, but we have found that our product has resonated most with couples who are planning their own wedding and may only have the budget for a day-of coordinator. Festa is sort of a solution that bridges the gap between the day of and the month of coordination.”
What are you most proud of so far?
“As the founder and creator of this technology. I’m most proud of a historical first, when Jennifer and Cole’s wedding in Colorado happened in October 2025. It was the world’s first AI-coordinated wedding, and we were able to both delight the guests at their wedding, as well as provide real value for Jennifer. (285 questions that she didn’t have to field)”
What is next for you and your company?
“Right now we’re focused on weddings, running over SMS in the US and Canada, and most of what we do lives on the guest side, making sure everyone has instant answers to the questions that usually flood a couple’s phone. What’s next is really about widening that out. In the near term, we’re bringing Festa to the rest of the world through iMessage and WhatsApp, along with multilingual support, so a guest can text in their own language and get an answer in it. That opens us up to international weddings and destination celebrations, where guest communication is honestly even more of a headache. But the part I’m most excited about is the AI itself getting smarter. Today, it answers questions; the goal is for it to become a genuine concierge for the whole event. A technology that the bride/hosting team hires, which can proactively reach back to the host based on the real-time status of what guests are texting. That’s the vision we’re building toward, and every release gets us closer to it.”
Is Festa just for weddings?
Festa isn’t just meant to be for weddings. Our vision is much more ambitious. We are building the AI layer that you can expect to operate at any large-scale event, with weddings being the smallest niche where coordination becomes a real problem. Basically, we will operate at music festivals, sporting events, concerts, business conferences, etc.
