“When I was putting together ideas for the shoot, I turned to nature as my inspiration. In my mind, I pictured woodlands, sun streaming through the trees as the sun set, delicate flowers and foliage and lakes as the backdrop. I saw this being drawn through every element from the stationary, to the woodwork and even the picnic set up. The models were in fact a real married couple. The love and friendship between them was so beautiful, I wanted to capture how relaxed they were with one another. The wild nature to the flowers and the rustic cake really played off this relationship really well. Shooting right up until the sun went down brought some beautiful light that gave the images a truly romantic and dusky feel which highlighted all the suppliers hard work wonderfully – and turned out some photographs that I’m really proud of.”

“I wanted to create something with the best of what’s grown in the Cambridgeshire area. That meant really letting the flowers lead the way in terms of shape and colour. Using soft apricot, light pink, white, and purple, set against raspberry leaf and trailing ivy – the design encapsulates the wild, as if just scooped up from a meadow. The flower crown really did take centre stage during this shoot with beautiful peach and pink ranunculus bringing that touch of spring and pop of colour which seemed to work so harmoniously with the makeup, delicate accessories and vintage dress. Finishing off with some yellow satin ribbon tied around the bouquet, flower crown and button hole to tie it all in together really gave it that blossoming look.”

“The dress featured in the shoot is an original 1950s gown. But unlike the 1950s, our ‘bride’ is wearing boots – we wanted to convey that vintage works for the modern bride and not every element of a wedding needs to be vintage; having a knock out, one of a kind gown is fine on it’s own! The gown featured in the shoot is the ‘Betty’ gown; she’s made of tulle and lace and I feel adds a playful aspect to the rustic nature of this woodland shoot. I’m thrilled with the photographs and hope that ‘Betty’ finds an owner soon, she has so much to give and can be styled in many ways.”

“The stationery is always a key piece to photograph as it encompasses all the elements from the other suppliers. The calligraphy and illustrations beautifully connect to the shape, style and colour of the flowers in the bouquet, crown, button hole and on the cake. The handmade paper gives a more rustic feel whilst maintaining a modern edge which matches the style of the brides combination of elegant dress and boots.”

“It was an absolute joy to work with some fantastic suppliers. This was the most dreamy and relaxed shoot I’ve been involved in and we had so much fun being a part of it. Noemi wanted the feel of the shoot to be laid back and natural so we couldn’t wait to be involved as this suits out style of wedding. Organic, seasonal and high quality ingredients decorated in a rustic yet elegant style and finished with homegrown British flowers. Appreciating everything British, the countryside that surrounds us and letting it inspire what we do – perfect for the modern wedding.”

Lucy Anne Makeup Artist

“Looking at the classic 1950s dress, I wanted the makeup to incorporate some classic glamour. I created a natural brown smokey eye, with some added lashes to make the eyes really pop and stand out. Teaming this with glowing skin and tying it together with a nude lip. All the colours used accompanied the colours in the flower crown perfectly. The makeup needed to be subtle to draw out the the models stunning features. The natural theme called for some effortless yet timeless beauty.”
