Pink White and Green Boho Garden Wedding in Irvine, California

Across the pond to sunnier climes with a boho garden wedding, full of muted tones and golden hues for today’s intimate styled shoot in Irvine, California. Danielle of Belle Vie Events the co-ordinator behind this dreamy shoot wanted a back garden feel, but with all the luxury and tradition of a wedding day. With a trusty team of suppliers and an amazing real life couple who recently got married themselves, the shoot came to life. It’s full of lush details and brings a true boho luxury vibe! We catch up with the team to hear all about it…

“The inspiration behind this boho chic wedding was the elegance and colour palette of the bohemian look. The simplicity of the nude colours and light florals definitely drew Belle Vie Events to this specific shoot. We knew we wanted more of the traditional bride and groom with these colours as well as very specific details to make this look come to life. We also wanted to adapt to the “new 2020 trend” of backyard weddings and make it known a fabulous event is still do-able and safe! As soon as we saw The Simple Luxe and their event rentals, we knew they were the perfect fit to completing the vision; the greenery draped across the circle grid arch to the boho table with the lounge cushions to the immaculate chandelier to bring it all together.”

“We had a fantastic team of four photographers to capture every fine detail and angle; LM Shoots, Chrissie Good Photography, Atlas & Rose Wedding Photography, and A+M Badillo Images. Flowers by Lily Garland did a fantastic job bringing out the fresh greenery and bohemian styled pieces to add the most amazing details to the look. We also had Lovely Steph Creations make paper floral pieces for each table setting to add some personalised touches. The table wear, including the clear glassware and gold flatware were provided by Something Borrowed Party rentals. Toni Brides was our beauty guru and handled the bridal makeup and hair, keeping her as natural and gorgeous as ever. To complete the grooms’ look we brought in Friar Tux; they were kind enough to provide everything from the shoes to the gorgeous coral tie to the cufflinks.”

“Our real life couple, bride and groom, Chelsi & D.J. met in 2015 walking home from school with some friends, they exchanged numbers and it did not take long for that relationship to grow from friendly to romantic. Their relationship continued to blossom when Chelsi brought him home to Hawaii to meet the entire family, then in 2019, he popped the question. In typical D.J fashion, right outside of their home while making a silly music video for their social media….and she obviously said yes!”

“Due to get married this year, they had to overcome some pretty big challenges to be able to have their special day. With a beach wedding on the horizon and the rules changing week by week the couple thought they may not be able to get a beach permit in time for the event, but they were persistent and literally at 6 pm the night before the big day everything fell into place! The day was absolutely beautiful, they were able to have the ceremony as planned on Sandy Beach and a small, intimate reception. They even made sure to live stream the ceremony for family and friends who couldn’t be there to join in on all the love and magic.”

Cake – Chochi’s Sweets

” I wanted to get in touch with nature and incorporate things that highlight the beauties of nature. Using different types of flowers such as eucalyptus and succulents, as well as the rusticity of the different textures of wood was a priority for me. To represent the different textures, I left the sides of the cake textured with buttercream and did not completely smooth the sides. I added 24K edible gold leaf all throughout the sides of the cake to make it more chic. To add more texture and depth to the cake, I used a stencil to add more buttercream along the sides of the cake. I laid down the stencil a bit uneven so the buttercream designs would not be symmetrical, but rather more rustic. To top it off, succulents were placed on the cake and the sides of the cake along with some eucalyptus.”

“I chose a muted pink, white and tan colour pallet and a mix of dried and fresh flowers to really give it that boho feel. Some of my favourite parts of the shoot were the small light blue vases on the table that are hand blown glass and a bit asymmetrical.”

The white and gold vow books were inspired by my own wedding, and they worked beautifully with the theme, the white rose paper flowers were added accents to the place settings. Inspired by the subtle tones of the theme, I wanted to add a personalised handmade touch”
