Venue spotlight is on today’s agenda, and recently we were lucky enough to be invited to the beautiful Eshott Hall, in the quaint and serene village of Eshott in Morpeth, Northumberland. Grand and impressive in it’s exterior, yet calm and homely inside, it’s the most beautiful hidden gem of a wedding venue that makes you feel like you are a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! What more could you ask for…
Wedding Venue: Eshott Hall
From our arrival at the hotel, the sweeping driveway on the lead up to the house provides the perfect way to make an entrance. Whether you’re arriving to get married at the hotel itself or from the most beautiful little Chapel in Eshott (more about this later) it provides a picturesque and country feel.
Eshott Hall – Wedding Packages
Eshott Hall is an ‘Exclusively Yours’ wedding venue with a number of different packages to pick from for your wedding day, whether you are looking for a one day/two day exclusive package or a ‘build your own dream day’ package, it is sure to cater to your needs. It’s packages are based on 80 day guests and 100 evening guests, however they can accommodate up 100 for the day and 120 for the evening. They also have some fantastic complimentary inclusions in all their packages including stationery, and lawn games!
Based a stones throw away from the Hotel itself is the most beautiful and quaint Chapel, meaning if you are looking for a religious ceremony or blessing as oppose to a civil ceremony in the Hotel, you have the best of both worlds at this venue.
Another option for your wedding ceremony is the most delightful outdoor ceremony space which has been created- it would make the most perfect woodland wedding with the comforts of the Hotel for the reception.
Beautiful lawns, grounds and woodland surround the hall itself, and there’s lots of fantastic photo opportunities for a newly wed couple and their guests, including the tree seats nestled away and the beautiful backdrops on all the lawns! Drinks and canapes on the lawn are a must for spring and summer weddings and lawn games can be set up for you and your guests to enjoy at the reception.
Each of the rooms in the main hotel has it’s own personality and are decorated with splendour mixed with a true country house feel. The Ballroom is used for weddings and wedding breakfasts’ and is filled with natural light and elegant period features, it has doors which open up onto the lawn and it’s own private bar for your big day.
The drawing room is light and airy and has a very opulent yet relaxed feel, it is licensed for smaller ceremonies for a more intimate wedding. If weather doesn’t allow an outdoor drinks reception, this is the perfect and alternative place to host it.
The Library can also be used for both ceremony or drinks reception and both this and the drawing room are used for larger weddings – it offers a more warm and traditional feel with open fires and beautiful soft furnishings. It’s also the perfect place for a quiet and chill out zone for on the wedding day itself.
Included in your exclusive package are the use of the 17 bedrooms, including the Bridal Suite for the night of the wedding. We stayed in the spacious Bainbridge suite, a luxury double bedroom with beautiful and complimentary decor. It had some lovely touches and we were greeted with fluffy robes and slippers, an array of magazines, a guide to the area and places to visit, and of course complimentary drinks for our stay.
A flexible range of food can be accommodated and the head chef and his team are happy to create a bespoke menu just for you! Classic canapes, haute cuisine, or a more relaxed approach with a mad hatters tea party!
We got to sample the a la carte menu and our evening meal was an absolute delight. It was a true reflection of the excellent cuisine and impeccable service that you would receive at the Hotel for your wedding. We were greeted as we arrived for dinner and shown into the Library for per dinner drinks and canapes, this room, decorated in a gentlemen’s club style, had a luxurious and moody feel and was the perfect environment to relax before dinner. It also gave us the opportunity to browse the menu at ease and order before being shown to our table.
We indulged in an exquisite four course meal and were wowed by the quality of the cuisine served to us… a real treat, which included to start an assiette of seafood with crab souffle and scallops, pork tenderloin, pigs cheek and black pudding bon bon for main course and a real highlight, the dessert, which was an array of rhubarb delight including a rhubarb macaroon, rhubarb bakewell, rhubarb clotted cream and ice cream! We finished off with the most delightful petit four, which including salted caramel truffles… it’s safe to say we were in a definite food coma by the end!
A huge thanks to the hotel for providing us with such a lovely stay, away from the hustle and bustle of town life.
Please note that we were gifted this stay, however all our thoughts in this blog post are true and our own.
