“The Shakespearean inspired shoot incorporates a Gothic modern romance with a Mid-Summer Night’s Dream vibe. Taking inspiration from the exquisite gardens of the Mount Ephraim estate, this shoot boosts opulent florals, whimsical detailing, Gothic cakes lavish dresses and a whole lot of romance!
To create this look for your own wedding day create a Pinterest board for inspiration, save ideas from Instagram, create mood boards and keep inspiration in organised folders on the different apps so it doesn’t become overwhelming. “The styling for this shoot is inspired not only by Shakespeare tales of sincerity, flirtation and romance but by the garden themselves. The grounds of Mount Ephraim are somewhat dreamlike, showcasing vast open spaces, secluded romantic spots, enchanting rose gardens and whimsical woodlands; all the elements needed for ‘Mid-Summer Night’s Dream’ wedding vibe. This inspiration was featured in each element of the shoot, from the lavish furniture and props to the antique place settings and glassware. This Shakespearean theme can also be found in the table runner, printed with a love poem fit to make anyone’s heart swoon when reading it!”

“The florals are designed around Shakespeare’s tales of love; their drama, passion, beauty, and enchanting bond. Each arrangement featured a variety of roses, being renowned for their connection to love and romance, it was only right to have them front and centre of each floral piece. Each rose representing a different element of love, from perfection, sincerity and gratitude, to love at first sight.”
Cake – Bon Bon Cakes
“I went bold with this three tier wedding cake, channelling my inner Goth; using current trends with the drip detail, sharp edges, gold leaf features and texture. I wanted it to really pop with the contrast of the bright colour, not only found in the fresh flowers but the fruit, macarons and luxury chocolates! Standing tall on a subtle white wooden cake pedestal with a blush pink bow detailing.”
Furniture & Props – The Little Wedding Warehouse
“We like to think of our furniture and prop collection as a mixture of curated vintage finds and pieces we’ve designed and made ourselves using recycled materials. This styled shoot at Mount Ephraim showcases the best of both! Our Persian rugs, French chaise lounge, dressing table and crystal chandelier were used to style and outdoor lounge, set in the gorgeous grounds of the estate. Our giant crescent moon which we hand made from reclaimed wood served as the ceremony backdrop for the stunning couple, along with our trestle and round tables for the reception; also made from reclaimed wood, fit perfectly within the natural surrounding gardens.”
