Here we catch up with creator and designer Carrie Courtney of CC Millinery Creations about the inspiration behind the collection and the shoot…
“We wanted to finish the year with something warm with winter season charm with some of our very favourite friends we’ve had the pleasure work with this year. Shoot on the 28th November 2019 we used the very final days of autumn to shoot the first set outside then took our shoot indoors for our Christmas set”
“We took our inspiration from a Christmas card I found, and used the editorial photography style of Mike Croshaw @readingmodelphotography to bring a modern twist to our winter wonderland shoot”
“We choose to use our white room as a more modern approach to our Christmas scenes for something slightly different, Ted my partner got to use his craftsmanship by hand making our 8ft suspended hoop, I decorated with charity shop finds of Christmas classical decoration in creams and golds and foliage and greenery foraged from our gardens which made this special as these pieces really brought the season indoors.”
“Downstairs for our classic Christmas scene I wanted to achieve the classical traditional look of reds and greens with misltoe, cedars and firs, again taken from our garden.”
“We used our headpieces throughout the shoot we are generally known for our spring and summer pieces but I’ve tried to work within the seasons making pieces that work in any way for anytime of year, for winter brides and events. The golden and forest green headpiece used by Quinn in the white room was a new piece I wanted to try, I had a colour in mind for a long time I’ve always wanted to work with, I am so pleased with the results of this.”
“Poppy perspective has a beautiful style of stunning gowns and a new collection of reworked vintage which are cut and styled for all, each one is hand crafted in the UK, we were honoured to have a wide range of these beautiful dresses for the shoot, with both our models different styles, each piece suited each set and complimented each other, from the modern look of our white room to our classic”
