“I organised this shoot to demonstrate what is possible for couples who want a tropical destination wedding yet feel like there is no other option than England’s very own countryside. The inspiration for this shoot was to combine and infuse a modern tropical style in a more traditional, more likely setting. Demonstrating how less expected does not need to be any less beautiful or romantic and we are certain you will feel ‘Lost in Paradise’ on your wedding day, no matter where the destination.”

“We took direct influences from a tropical destination and wanted to introduce rich blue hues in line with on trend colours of the year. It was important for us to feature lots of details that complemented the bigger, bolder statements. Our wish list included lush greenery, vibrant blooms, zesty punches of colour and direct references to that tropical paradise.”

Styling – Rebecca Marie Weddings & Events

“The styling was kept achievable, alongside the tropical foliage the rustic wooden tables were the perfect base to add jewel coloured glassware and gold accents throughout the tablescape. The use of a patterned napkin elevated the design and tied perfectly with the gold framed backdrop of tropical foliage sprays and modern menu cards. This styling is transferable to any kind of wedding as the lush green of tropical foliage can be paired with a whole variety of colours or even just monochrome, modern looks.”

Bridal – Constellation Ame

“The Bride wears a luxe silk, floor length wrap dress with a deep-v neckline, featuring full-length sleeves, a high leg slit and a full flowing hem paired with statement earrings. This is followed by a wide-legged, tie neck jumpsuit, an up and coming trend for the modern Bride, and is complemented by the contrasting and bold hair scarf and lip colour. Any fashion forward Bride is in need of a well-tailored Groom, and he did not disappoint with his black and blue velvet statement tuxedo. Bridesmaids wore mix and match silk dresses to compliment the Bride.”

Flowers – Floren Studio

“To create the tropical look we opted for lush foliage’s of Aralia, Monstera, Philodendron and Palm leaves. These large, statement foliage’s instantly add a tropical vibe with their dark green, unusual shape. We only used leaves for the backdrop to the tablescape to keep with the contemporary, modern style. In keeping with the colour scheme we added blooms of Delphiniums, Thistle and Agapanthus to the bridal bouquet. These bright blooms contrasted against the leaves, really making them pop and proving you don’t need oranges and pinks for that exotic look. To achieve a lush, tropical feel then less really is more. Focus on large unusual foliage’s and minimal florals to create statement designs and pieces.”

Cake – Little Buttercup Cakery

“The tiered cake was hand-painted with gorgeous tropical details and sugar flowers, it was perfectly on theme with a mango and coconut flavour throughout. If you are wanting to include a themed cake for your wedding consider hand-painted details to maintain elegance and bespoke flavours for an extra special touch Hair and Make-Up For the make up we wanted to create something fresh and natural but also polished and perfected – You, but on a really good day! Groomed brows, seamless blending and warm neutral tones created just that. Adding a pop of bright lip colour gives the makeup a complete twist – A great way to change it up for the evening. Corals are perfect on tanned skin or pinks on English roses. For the second look a scarf was braided into the hair for an added punch of colour, another great way to incorporate a contrasting colour into your big day.”
