Romantic, whimsical and full of current trends for your upcoming wedding day! Today’s inspirational shoot set at Wokefield Estate in Berkshire has a contemporary vibe in a traditional setting. Shoot organiser and makeup artist Rowenna from Makeup by Rowenna wanted to create wedding inspiration for trend-led couples planning their dream day. We catch up with Rowenna and the rest of the team who tell us all about the shoot and give all you couples some planning advice too…
Inspiration
“The influence behind the shoot came from watching the 2022 wedding trends, particularly new collections for the couture runway. I was after a team of like-minded suppliers who were looking to connect and produce some on-trend wedding images for their portfolios, we wanted to create an inspirational shoot that covered the latest trends so that any new brides to be could be up to date with the latest styles and looks which could help them to create their dream day through seeking inspiration from this shoot.”
Get The Look
“Seeking inspiration from styled shoots on Instagram, I believe couples can find inspiration from searching through hashtags of keywords on Pinterest and Instagram. Come up with keywords how you want your wedding to feel for example #elegant #romantic if your suppliers are on a similar vibe you will likely connect. You can find inspiration from their feed and past brides. Create a mood board or screenshot favourite images to your phone, where you should then hopefully start to see a pattern of styles.”
The Venue
“The De Verve Wokefield Estate venue is a gorgeous mansion house wedding venue. Which is licensed for indoor and outdoor ceremonies giving you a creative opportunity to style the venue exactly how you would like. Set in 250 acres of Berkshire parkland the grounds would make a stunning summer venue. If your looking for glam traditional luxe there is also inspiration for this venue to work to suit this theme.”
Planning Advice
Gabriela Seweryn Photography
“Are you dreaming about perfect photos from your wedding day? You will need to answer yourself with what you are looking for. There are lots of photographers who offer different wedding packages but that’s not that important. Make your decision based on the photographer’s work and editing style. Check their portfolio and consider what you like or dislike. Don’t be afraid to ask or chat. Understandably, choosing the right photographer is a pretty stressful process but a professional one will always get back to you to answer all your enquiries and concerns. Are you comfortable chatting with a possible photographer? Does he meet your needs? Do you get on well with that person? And on top of it, you adore the work and style of his photos?
The Bridal Dress Company
“Always approach each bridal shop with a positive mindset and be ready to try on a vast collection of dresses – you never know which will be the one! Try on as many different silhouettes as possible to help you find the perfect fit. Even if it’s a style you would have never considered, try it on! It’s a great way of ruling out certain shapes as well. You still want to feel like yourself; let your dress be a reflection of your personality! Be super honest with your bridal specialist, make them aware of your budget so that you don’t fall in love with a dress that is out of your price range. Put your trust in their experience, they know exactly how each dress fits the body and you’d be amazed how different they can look on and off the hanger!”
The Dried Flower Collection
“We think dried flowers are perfect for your wedding day as they double up as the perfect keepsake too. Brides are always trying to find ways to preserve their bouquets after their big day but with these that is already done for you. If you prefer fresh flowers look you can always try to find flowers that are preserved rather than dried.”
Rachael Smith Hairdressing
“Before you come for your trial, have a think about how you feel at your best, is your hair up or down? How is your parting etc…have a little mess about with your hair at home to give you more of an idea of how you feel comfortable from the front. -save some hair inspo pictures to your phone, ideally of hair close to your own colour and length so its more realistic -Coming with makeup on similar to how you plan on wearing it is always a good idea, it will give you a better idea of the whole complete look. -Come with a white or light coloured top with a similar neckline to your dress so you can visualise the overall look and your stylist can take some nice photos for you too! -Bring your veil and accessories with you if you have them (it’s sometimes best to decide on your hairstyle first before buying though) -Never feel pressured to look a certain way!! You want to feel the best version of yourself.”
Makeup by Rowenna
“Narrow down your makeup artist to those who most closely match what you’re hoping to achieve. You will find this on their website or on Instagram. Have a look at on-brand images of your favourite product, To have a look for inspiration. Once you’ve got your make-up artist on board, absolutely invest in a trial. Makeup can change the way you feel and look it can give you a boost of confidence. A beautiful new lipstick will be a great investment for your special day. For touch-ups throughout the day. My Favourites include Charlotte Tilbury -Pillow talk. Tom Ford – Austin. Mac -Faux. For that fresh-faced glow, start investing in your skincare. Double cleanse, tone, serum and moisturise your future self will thank you. Great skin helps your make-up stay put.”
