Romantic and dreamy is the order of today’s blog post, set in Sarabah Estate Vineyard, Australia but with a very french vibe! Poppy and Sage Photography, Magnolia Studios, and Tyneale Hahn Makeup Artist created and coordinated the vineyard wedding shoot, with ethical elements and lots of countrywide exhibitors, it’s full of inspirational details. We catch up with the team behind the shoot…
“Blushed Love’ is a Country-wide collaboration… It is a celebration of a country coming together during some of the hardest times it has seen in the past 100 years. This Wedding Editorial involved all six states and the Northern Territory. Australia, like everywhere else at the moment, can be found somewhere along with the unknown that is COVID- 19. Despite the pandemic, businesses from all over Australia have come together to create this delightful pastel collaboration.”
Inspiration
“Many Australians enjoy holidaying in the spring in Europe. Collectively we have brought Europe – France, in particular – to our own backyard. We channelled a relaxed Southern French vibe featuring a spring-inspired pastel – an elopement oasis within the vineyards of Sarabah Estate and Winery – with our #COVIDSAFE elopement, 2 person Reception and Alpaca attendants. The Queensland-based venue provided the perfect backdrop to showcase all elements, including silk ribbons and ring box from New South Wales, cufflinks from Victoria, French oak leaf brooch from Tasmania, shoes from South Australia, ceramic flowers and stationery from Western Australia, and a beeswax wrap from the Northern Territory. We incorporated elements of sustainability, some of the items were sourced through op-shopping – such as the painted purple plate, plates for the table setting, platter used for grazing, and the dessert forks. The beeswax wrap continued the theme of sustainability when making day-to-day choices. Finally, two members of the team are healthcare workers – the groom muse and the ceramicist are both practising doctors on the east and west coasts of Australia. As a team, we would welcome the opportunity to both recognise and express appreciation for the hardworking healthcare workers relentlessly managing the current healthcare crisis.”

“I love to bring ideas to life through collaboration and capture but this one was for all of Australia. As a team, we achieved representation of every State and Territory while being mindful of the environment (various sustainable components). “It was originally planned to have a Bridal party included but due to social distancing requirements, our real-life couple was the safest choice. Our options: a) no wedding party, b) an awkwardly socially distanced wedding party, or c) a COVIDsafe alpaca party. The decision was simple: option c. The alpaca party – Sam, Jack & Napoleon. Residents of the Estate – this trio had a great time eating roses plucked straight from floral arrangements to a quick dust bath during the reception to photo-bombing sunset portraits, the alpaca party was a hit!”

“When Emily first discussed her idea for the shoot with me, I liked the concept and the challenge to create something original and authentic but the more I delved into creating the intricate details of the shoot the more I fell in love. With the request to include some vintage elements I immediately turned to my grandmother’s collection of gorgeous pieces and was delighted to be able to include her beautiful gold filigree bracelet, gloves and hatbox and a variety of crystal ware. Having the opportunity to work with this diverse team, spanning Australia wide (thanks to Emily’s tireless determination) not only created this truly beautiful shoot but allowed us to support our industry through the tough times of Covid-19.”

“Using traditional cotton paper, printed antique gold tones ink, complimented with soft watercolour florals in tones of peach and pink. Finished with gold leaf accents, wax seals and a custom dyed silk ribbon to perfectly pair with the colour palette of the day.”

“We love experimenting with flavours ensuring only the finest natural sustainably sourced ingredients are used. Delicate sugar ruffles and watercolour pastel shades featured, endorsing handmade wafer and rice paper flowers. The cake design for this shoot was created with the colour palette and delicate details as the focus.”
Flowers – Le Sans Souci
“Floral arrangements in a lush garden-style showcasing Australian grown blooms like Grandiflora Roses, Botanical chandelier design with simplicity and lightness inspired by French country life. Life is better in bloom! For this shoot, I was guided by the colour palette and sheer elegance of our inspiration. In addition to the hero blooms (Grandiflora roses), I mixed light summer blooms to create a dreamy effect – delphinium poppies, tulips (which the alpaca’s loved!) and Ranunculus. Green vines kept light to have a floating effect in the soft breezes during the Ceremony. Olive branches were styled around the chapel to give connection to the Olive Grove reception.”

“Amour Platters created an authentic gourmet French platter with a selection of charcuterie meats, blue ash creamy goat’s cheese, a smooth blue cheese embodied in a natural rind, triple cream brie layered with fresh honeycomb, gourmet beetroot dip, an array of antipasto, golden pears, lavish crackers, heavenly dried & fresh fruits of the forest, organic edible flowers & herbs, combined with a French garlic baguette drizzled in olive oil to capture the true essence of France. They also created French-inspired classic desserts, an assortment of mille feuille’s (French for a
thousand sheets) layered with rich decadent pastry creme, layers of French butter pastry, sweet & sour raspberries and dusted with sweet angel icing. Short pastry profiteroles filled with rich creme, rolled in decadent dark chocolate & sprinkled with fairy dust. Classic French Butter Madeleines dipped in almond butter icing & rolled in chopped toasted almonds.”
